A Froggie Bday

I've been busy this week with coworker birthdays. We're a small staff so we try to celebrate. This is a card for another one of our male teachers. I kind of followed the sock monkey card so you should see the similarities easily.

Monkeying around

Hello everyone! Long time no post. Sorry that I've been m.i.a. Starting this school year has taken every ounce of energy I have. But I do have a card for you today. The first time I have crafted since school has been in session. It's a real simple card. Believe it or not, it has no cricut. It is the sock monkey stamp from Stampin Up! I colored/painted it in with watercolor pencils.I did cut out a seperate mouth to pop it. This is a boy card for a guy teacher at work. I hope it likes it as well as all of yall. Of course yall can just leave a nasty comment if you don't like it, he can throw it in my face if he doesn't. LOL he would never do that. Thanks for looking. Toodles!

I'M BACK!!!

As most of you know I am a teacher. I  have started at a new school this year for at risk youths. This is a brand new school so as a team leader I've been helping to get the school open. I don't ever remember being this tired at the beginning of the school year. So sadly, my blog got pushed on the back burner while we got school started.  I have gotten to craft, but it's all been stuff for the school! I've done name signs for the doors which you see below. I've also have done quotes on my walls, my podium, and the front door of the school. I'm also suppose to do quotes going down the hallways. I will have pictures of that soon.
I used Locker Talk, Destentations, My World, and Paper Doll Dress Up (the accessories). The font on all came from Lyrical Letters. The wildcat was an SVG. Some of them I used pens to line the cut lines to make them stand out.

Sorry about the glare on these. I didn't take the pictures of these until after I put the clear contact paper on them. You can't lamintate these things. They are too thick because of the layers.
I also had a vinyl project requested by my sis in law. She's an elementary school teacher. I love doing these for her classroom because it's ok to make it all cutesy. I teach middle school and they don't like cutesy.
Again I'm sorry I've been M.I.A. I never knew how much went into getting a school opened. This is going to be one wild school year. Go Wildcats!

I Saw The Sign

I had to finish up one more sign for a fellow teacher who teaches with me. This happens to be her favorite color. Poor dear doesn't know what a cricut is. So she has no idea it's cricut green! That's ok I'm going to educate her soon enough. My school won one of the 500 cricut expressions. I can't wait to teach everyone. *Also sorry about the bad song reference in the title, hehe.*

"Wine" Thank You

As you all know I went out of town this past week for my anniversary. My buddy, Rianne, took care of our home while we were gone. So while we were out, I picked up a special bottle of wine to tell her thank you. This is the thank you card I made her to go with it. I used French Manor for the card and the wine glass. Thanks for looking.

An Italian Thank You

All of you probably thought I have disappeared. I am on vacation for my one year anniversary. (*Insert audience saying awwww here) But I didn't forget about y'all. This is a thank you card I did for some parents of one of my students. They own a pizza parlor and they donated pizza for my student's end of the year party. I thought an Italian theme would be approriate. I made it as a 5x7 card so all my kiddos could sign it. When you are used to working with A2 cards it can be tricky going back to doing cards this big. I did the tower from the Destinations cartidge. It was cut at 6 1/4. I love how it came out. Simple, but cute. My students really liked it too, which made it worth it. Oh and fyi the pizza was AMAZING!! They are real Italians so you know they know how to make good pizza.

A "Lady" Nightlight

I promise I'm going to quit with the vinyl eventually. LOL. I have once again used my niece for inspiration for a project. I've wanted to decorate a glass block for some time. So this is what I came up with. The ladybug came from the Paisley cartidge. It was cut at 3.5 inches. Thanks for looking.

This week was my twin brother and his wife's anniversary. So I took their wedding colors in my mind to make their card. They instantly noticed. Even my brother! This is the card feature on the Sweethearts cartidge. I have never used the card feature before, but I love how it came out. I cut the card a second time in white to get the perfect fit for my white backdrop. Before gluing down the white back I use the cheater method to tape down the ribbon. I think cute out the word anniversary from the same cartidge and put a matching prima to accent. Love how it came out. Happy Anniversary Bro!

A Musical Birthday

As I shared the other day it's my best friend's birthday. She is the one I made the sign for. Well I decided to make her card go along with the theme. I used the cuttlebug to emboss the music notes. I actually used velumn to emboss with. I like how it came out. I used glitter red paper to mat. The piano is acutally from the cartidge A Child's Year. Hard to believe that cut is on there. Then I used pop dots to pop it up.
I also played with vinyl yet again. Wow vinyl imagine that lol. What can I say I'm addicted. I used Hannah Montana again to do this for her. I hope she likes this picture frame. Thanks for looking.

A Weird Thank You

Since I've been going so crazy with my vinyl I figured I should make a thank you card for the friend suppling me. Believe it or not he goes by the name Tree. As long as I have known Tree I have never found out why he is called that. I used Pooh Font for the word Tree. It is cut out of the wood font feature on that cart. I then cut the tree from Wild Card and I think the thanks came from there too. I then used green stickles around the edge to make it pop just a little. I will say it is very hard to make guy cards fun, or it is at least for me. Thanks for looking.

A musical sign

Again with the vinyl. LOL. My best friend just had her birthday and this was her gift. She is a music teacher at a local elementary school. So I created a name sign for her classroom door. I started with a piece of wood from Lowe's. They cut the board down for me. I then painted it white and drilled the holes in it for the ribbon. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and you can't see it well, but it was music notes on it. The text came from Disney's Hannah Montana cart and it's the music end caps feature. The only down side to this feature is that you can't use it on the design studio. So I had to use my gypsy.I just loved how it came out. Thanks for looking.

A Berry Sweet Layout

This is the layout I submitted for Robyn's design team challenge. I can now post it on my blog since I didn't get in. Oh well, at least I tried. I still love how it came out. I used some cute strawberry ribbon that I found at Michaels. I used Paisley for the strawberries and the word, Sweet. I think used Gypsy font for the "Berry". I also used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and stickles on the strawberries to jazz them up. (thanks for the idea Kelli) I then used a white gel pen and a black marker to do the faux stitching on the picture mats. The subject is my favorite, my niece Cailynn. She went strawberry picking with her momma. Isn't she cute!?

A vinyl project/glass etching

I stated the other day that I've been using a lot of vinyl. Well I tried a new trick the other day with it, glass etching. I have to say I'm addicted! I'm etching everything. I cut the letter from the Blackletter cart at 2.5 inches and used the negative image on my glass. I then put the cream on there for 10 minutes and washed it off. Voila instance personalized beer mug. My twin brother loved it.

This is a candle holder I did for my mom. I used Life's a Beach for the seagulls and Destinations for the palm trees. I again used the negative image. I put a piece of vinyl inside it to help you see it better.

4th July Bday Card

This is a birthday I made for my beloved daddy. He LOVES watermelon. I mean he loves watermelon. I took Doodlecharms and used design studio to make a shape card. This is actually my first shape card. After cutting and pasting all the layers I used a scallop punch to make a bite mark out of the card. I love how it came out.

A Stepping Stone

I've been working with vinyl a lot lately. I mean a LOT. LOL. I am lucky enough that I have a great source for my vinyl. Here is my tip that maybe you can use. Sign shops! My friend works at a sign shop and gives me all their "scraps". They would just throw this in the dumpster if I didn't take them. I get some super pretty colors. What is scrap to them is pay dirt to me. This is the first vinyl project that I'm going to share. This a ceramic tile that I purchased at Lowes (it was around $3). I then cut this super pretty image with SCAL. I am so sorry I don't remember the ladies' blog that I got it from. I'm so sorry. But I am more then willing to share the file. It also cuts great for cards. This tile was a gift to my step mommy. She LOVES hummingbirds. She is going to use it as a stepping stone from our house to the water. I made another one with a different cut for my real mommy. She used a picture easle and has hers by her fireplace. Thanks for looking!

30th Bday cards

Hi everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted in the past week. I've been trying to decide what I wanted to submit for MyPinkStamper's design team. Since it can't have been posted anywhere before I held out in case I wanted to use something I made. I did get my project submitted and I hope I get in. Here are two 30th Birthday cards I made for my husband and his best friend. The first one is a card I did for my husband's best friend. He works in the biology field and used to work with monkeys. This monkey was cut from Paper Dolls and I colored in the areas I wanted since he didn't have layers. I also used Plantin Schoolbook for the numbers.

This card was for my husband's 30th birthday as well. My hubby LOVES elephants. I found this guy on the Disney Dreams Come True cart. He's a small picture and you can easily miss him. My hubby loved it.

Father's Day Card # 3 and Finger Painting

These first two pictures are of the gift my niece and I did for my dad. She is only one years old and she did her first finger painting for her grandpa! How sweet. I used it as a background and used pop dots to put in a photo of him and her together with it. On the back I used my ATG to put two pictures of her painting the art and small journal about the event. I'm not kidding when I say my daddy started to cry over this gift. He loves it.

This is daddy's card I made. I used A Child's Year for the cut and used a stamp for the sentiment.

Father's Day Card #2

Sorry about this poor photo. I had to use my Iphone since my camera was dead at the time. This is a Father's Day card for my grandpa-in-law. He is a huge Arkansas Razorback fan. I have to say it's really hard to make this guy pretty. LOL. I did not use cricut for this cut. But I think it came out super cute. I really have to thank my friend Kelli for this one for helping me with the hog. I have one more card to post but can't till later in case my own daddy sees it.

Father's Day Card #1

This is a father's day card that I made for my step dad. He is a car dealer. This is from Mickey and Friends.

Sorry!

Ok I made bad promise. I said I would post pics already. I'm sorry that I haven't. I got really sick after making that post. Plus yesterday I got some big news from my doctor. Nothing bad I promise. Really good stuff, but it's a lot to swallow right now. I'll try to post by the end of today.

My first post!

Hi everyone! This is my very first post. I started this blogto help all my friends and family keep up with the many things I'm doing with my scrapping. I'm not saying I'm as good Robyn (mypinkstamper.com) or my friend, Kelli (beecraftee.com), but I sure do try. I'm going to eventually try videos, but I still have a lot to learn. My husband, Mase, came up with the name The Cricut Diva. He's been telling me for awhile I need to have a blog named that. He's so funny. So please bare with me as I learn this blog thing. I hope you all enjoy and I'm going to try my best to post something later today.
Toodles,
Tiff
